pants on fire

A couple of posts back I said "I am grateful for challenges". That was a bold-faced lie. What can I say to you? It was the sabbath and I was dosed with all manner of  perspective and hope. But I was also totally lying.

There is no gratitude in this heart for the hard things. I actually hate them. When they do not discourage me they make me fighting mad. Which can be good because I've got a few challenges to grapple with right now. And I am telling you one thing.
 We're going to the mattresses.

You heard me, consiglieri.

  1. Going to the mattresses as in mattress shopping or taking a nap? We need a new bed, too. We wake up crippled every morning.

  2. As in the quote from the Godfather before they start cappin' people. It means to prepare for a battle or get ready for war.

  3. If anything in this life is certain, if history has taught us anything, it is that you can kill anyone.
(You know we have famiglia, right? ;) I can help a sister out. )
